Rachelle Litt Reinforces Her Commitment To Listening By Hosting Public Meet and Greet Conversation
This past week, I held a public community meet and greet conversation, inviting residents to join me for an open and wide-ranging discussion about the city and its future.
The event took place at the public library and was an open forum where anyone could attend, ask me questions, and share their perspective on issues that matter most to them and their neighborhoods.
We discussed possible changes to property taxes and how those Tallahassee-driven changes may impact the city. We talked about the importance of affordable housing for our first responders, teachers, healthcare workers, and everyone who is part of the collective backbone of our city. Of course we discussed public safety, and how best to make sure Palm Beach Gardens remains safe.
I listened to concerns and responded to questions about challenges facing Palm Beach Gardens, both in the context of the upcoming election and in the years ahead.
The night reflects my ongoing commitment to reaching out to all corners of the city and making myself available to everyone.
Responsible leadership is not about pursuing your own personal agenda. It's about making sure your priorities reflect what is important to everyone in the city. It's also about having the experience to know the difference.
Listening is one of the most important elements of being a member of the City Council, and why community meetings like this past week are so important.
